Fixed indexed annuity disclosures
Fixed indexed annuities are insurance contracts issued by insurance companies. They are not securities, bank deposits, or obligations of any bank, and they are not FDIC or NCUA insured. They do not participate directly in the stock market or any index. Index-linked interest is subject to limits such as caps, participation rates, or spreads. Guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Surrender charges and market value adjustments may apply to early withdrawals. Withdrawals are taxed as ordinary income and may face a 10% IRS penalty before age 59½. Features and availability vary by carrier, state, and school district.
